General Information
The BASIC version used in the COMX-35, Pecom 32, Pecom 64, Telmac TMC-600, Quest Super BASIC 1.4, 3.0, 5.0 and 6.0, RCA VP-701 BASIC VER 2.2 and RCA BASIC3 V1.1 are all quite similar. Most likely all based on some form of Quest Super BASIC written by Ron Cenker.
These pages include details on some of the different BASIC commands and how they compare between the different versions.
Versions currently running on the Emma 02 Emulator and based on Super BASIC:
- COMX BASIC V1.00
- Floating Point BASIC 2.2
- Pecom 32 BASIC
- Pecom 64 BASIC 1.0 and 4.0
- Quest Super BASIC 1.4
- Quest Super BASIC 3.0
- Quest Super BASIC 5.0
- Quest Super BASIC 6.0
- RCA BASIC3 V1.1
- Telmac SBASIC v 24.3
Note on RCA BASIC3 V1.1: As far as I understand the original RCA BASIC was used in the Cosmac Development System and was stored in a ROM starting at address@B000. The version included in the emulator and running on the Elf (Cosmac, Netronics or Quest) is the one with additional BIOSIO calls which are written by Richard Peters. This version is loaded at @2200-@5200 and should run either on Quest Super Video or on a Serial Video Terminal. There is also a version available running on ElfOs which is NOT the version described on these pages.
